Mossberg… was named "2014 Innovator of the Year" during the opening night festivities at the 2014 National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesaler (NASGW) Expo & 41st Annual Meeting in Little Rock, Arkansas. During the annual awards reception and dinner, NASGW recognizes manufac- turers who contribute signifcantly to the successful business climate of its whole- sale members. This is the second time that Mossberg has been recognized as Innovator of the Year since the inception of this prestigious award in the 2012. Protocol Capital Solutions (PCS)… has new fnancing programs for federal, state and municipal public safety organi- zations. The fnancing program applies to a full range of public safety products. BLACKHAWK!… debuted its new website designed to provide military personnel, law enforce- ment agents, everyday carry and recre- ational shooters with product updates. Visitors can watch informative videos and to stay up-to-date on company news and promotions. Intergraph Planning & Response… software was chosen by the German Federal Police, one of Europe's largest police forces, to manage planned and unplanned major events. The software integrates seamlessly with the agency's existing Intergraph computer-aided dispatch suite and facilitates effective support and analysis for emergency preparedness and response operations. Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. Company… announced the delivery of two Bell 429s confgured for Helicopter Emergency Services (HEMS), Search and Rescue (SAR) and Airborne Law Enforcement (ALE) to the Delaware State Police aviation section. The milestone aircraft will join the Delaware State Police's current feet of Bell helicopters and be used throughout the state for a variety of parapublic missions with a strong focus on EMS. SunGard Public Sector… a provider of software and services solu- tions for local government and public safety agencies, announced a strategic engagement with Socrata, a cloud soft- ware company focused on democratizing access to public sector data—both inter- nally and externally—by and for organiza- tions of all sizes around the world. Under the terms of the agreement, SunGard Public Sector will offer Socrata's innova- tive Open Data and Open Performance solutions, along with Socrata's suite of fnancial transparency apps, to its customers across North America. GE Healthcare Life Sciences… announced that fve US law enforce- ment leaders have been selected to attend a world-class GE executive leadership development program in New York. Developed in close collabo- ration with the Major County Sheriff's Association (MCSA), the course will take place at GE's Crotonville Management Development Institute, which was founded in 1956 and was the world's frst major corporate university. SKIDCAR System Inc.… received the 2014 Z-Man Achievement Award from ALERT International— Educating and Training Law Enforcement on Electronic Stability Control Technology in New Generation Vehicles. The award was born in memory of Mark Y. Zylawy, a highly regarded Portland police offcer who died January 27, 2008 in a tragic acci- dent at the age of 40. The annual award represents what he stood for regarding emergency vehicle operations training and for the best innovative idea in police driver training. Mark was very outspoken about offcers using the latest and most progressive training material available. Thermo Fisher Scientific… dedicated a new $85 million Niche Diagnostics Center of Excellence in Fremont, Calif. United States Congressmen Mike Honda and Eric Swalwell, California Assemblyman Bob Wieckowski, California State Senator Ellen Corbett, Director of the Governor's Offce of Business and Economic Development Kish Rajan and Fremont Mayor Bill Harrison joined Thermo Fisher Scientifc to offcially open the new 350,000 square foot facility. The facility develops and manufactures innovative technologies for diagnostic testing and quality controls that are used in healthcare and other markets.
