www.officer.com March 2015 Law Enforcement Technology 11 Circle 5 on Reader Service Card G2 Research wanted to figure out a way to do expanding rounds better. The round itself expands in a star pattern (pictured is a 9mm). How far can be limited, but it can expand almost flat. Bill Rogers demonstrated his new 578 ProFit Holster from Safariland. The company overlaid 100's of handgun designs to discover commonalities. They then made a form to match as many as possible—so far the holster fits 125 different firearms. The ProFit holster allows multiple lengths. Pictured are four cut lines to have the holster better fit the firearm. Streamlight changed its Stinger from Xenon to LED and instead of using the reflector to focus the beam, they installed an optic to the center of the lens for a 510-meter range. The center of the UltraStinger's LED optic can be seen here. New to Streamlight are two versions of a flashlight holder: "Duty" for Stingers and "Tactical" for Protacs. A metal clip inside keeps the light in place—this allows it to fit different model sizes.
