The new IT system that Accenture will deploy under the contract, awarded by the General Services Administration Federal Systems Integration and Management Center, will provide mobile capabilities and enhance real-time decision-making at USMS. Based on soware from Pegasystems Inc., the system will be configured with an emphasis on user experience and digital design. Accenture will also develop an enter- prise data solution to improve data accessibility through an intuitive, user- centered design. The USMS serves critical law enforcement functions including investigations, prisoner operations and judicial security. A chief goal of the Mission Modernization Program is to create efficiencies by automating re-engineered business processes, giving operational staff more time to focus on their mission. Z-Medica... announced that the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) will acquire QuikClot Bleeding Control Kits to equip up to 1,000 schools in Central and Western Pennsylvania. The program, developed in asso- ciation with efforts by the American College of Surgeons, U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and the White House national "Stop the Bleed" campaign, ensures the schools in that region align with guidelines established by the Hartford Consensus. "We are seeing more and more communities coming together and training key personnel to respond to traumatic situations," says Z-Medica President and CEO Stephen J. Fanning. "Being prepared means first responders on the scene of traumatic events have the tools they need to control bleeding quickly and effec- tively. Stopping uncontrolled bleeding in those precious minutes can mean the difference between life and death." UPMC recently participated in training nearly 200 law enforcement officers in the management of trau- matic bleeding injuries and will be working to further the training and provide BCKs to school nurses and resource officers. AT&T...; created a new Global Public Sector organization and named AT&T; execu- tive Kay Kapoor to lead it. AT&T;'s Public Sector sales in 2016 totaled nearly $15 billion. Kapoor, who has led AT&T;'s federal business for four years, will be president of the new group. "This is an important focus area for AT&T;," said Kapoor. "Our public sector and educa- tion customers are a top priority. By bringing all public sector teams together, we can improve the value and partnership we offer to these customers." Kapoor led AT&T;'s public-private partnership with the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet), which was announced March 30. The Department of Commerce and FirstNet selected AT&T; to build and manage the first broadband network dedicated to America's police, firefighters, EMS and other first responders. The Safariland Group... announced that VIEVU and Veritone will integrate their product offerings to apply artificial intelligence to uniquely extract and process crucial data from police body-worn camera footage. The Veritone Platform will be avail- able to Safariland's law enforcement agency customers as a complement to VIEVU's body-worn cameras, accesso- ries and soware, later this year. The integration will allow VIEVU's customers to upload large volumes of video and audio recordings into the Veritone Platform and process them in near real-time, enabling law enforcement personnel to rapidly extract actionable information for use in investigations, monitoring and training, as well as to respond more quickly and efficiently to public record requests. "The Veritone Platform will enable law enforcement agencies to save thousands of hours of manual searching by using intelligent audio and video analysis, allowing them to focus time and resources on more mission-critical tasks," said Chad Steelberg, chief executive officer of Veritone. SiteSecure provides critical indoor/ outdoor infrastructure protection against active shooter attacks. "In addition to protecting travelers against a possible active shooter attack, airport and other transporta- tion hub security professionals today are challenged to deal with false alarms that can spread misinforma- tion quickly, leading to mass panic, injuries and costly operation delays and closures," said Damaune Journey, vice president of Security Solutions for ShotSpotter. "Our SiteSecure solu- tion is designed to help airport secu- rity validate an incident and deliver information quickly so that security personnel can help keep travelers safe in the event of an active shooter incident or a false alarm."
